This section is intended to provide a bit of reality of the struggle of local Tupinikim and Guarani. As the vast majority of indigenous people located in Brazil, they went through a long period of conflict and institutional struggle to detain definitely the rightful ownership of their traditional territory. The gallery is not in its conclusions format, but the intention here is to let these moments recorded so we can understand more deeply the reality of indigenous peoples in Brazil.
The photos below were taken at the time after the destruction of the alley Eye Water, rebuilt during the self-demarcation of 2005, and subsequently destroyed by the Federal Police, to fulfill a mandate of repossession in favor of multinational Aracruz Cellulose/FIBRIA . Many villages were gradually destroyed during the occupation of the territory of the indigenous and traditional village of Pau d'Água was a reference in the memory of many who lived there, went to fetch water, or passed through the open trails in the woods. Today the traditional territory of Tupinikim and Guarani indigenous has been approved and are in the process of reconstruction of ancient villages, destroyed during the 50 years of occupation of its territory, and also developing new survival strategies.
